About Me

Hey Ya'll! In case you want to know a bit about me...
Laura Benitz Photography
I grew up in Hiawatha, Kan. I was an active member of 4-H and FFA, participated in sports and attended church activities at St. Ann's parish. My love of public speaking, writing and advocating about agriculture formed my dream to pursue agricultural communications in college.

I am a proud alumna of Kansas State University (K-State), where I earned degrees in agricultural journalism and communications and animal science. While attending K-State I was active in numerous ag clubs, my sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, and several internships and a study abroad experience. After a few years in the work force and finding a desire to pursue a graduate degree in social policy and public administration, I graduated from Park University with a Master's in Public Affairs with a concentration in nonprofit management.

I currently work for Second Harvest Community Food Bank as the food acquisition coordinator. I tie both my love of agriculture and doing good with this position.

I am active with Junior League of St. Joseph, the Young Executive Network with the Metro Chamber, Trails West! arts festival, and the St. Joseph Agribusiness Council.

Besides volunteering and my career, I have a very active and thriving Mary Kay business. My ultimate goal is to be a work-from-home mom and my business has provided more skills and success than I can ever measure and I feel blessed I have this opportunity to provide for my family.

Finally,  I am from Kansas but now call Missouri home. I run to live (and for Team Beef). I love all things, most days, especially my friends, family, horse, Bostons and Todd. I live each day to understand His purpose, grace and plan for life.
